Job Description

About The New Standard Academy:
The New Standard Academy is a K-12 public charter school in Flint, MI, dedicated to academic excellence and strong character development. We believe in empowering every student through individualized instruction, family engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Position Summary:
The MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) Intervention Teacher will play a vital role in supporting student growth by providing academic and behavioral interventions aligned with the school's MTSS framework. This individual will collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and support staff to identify students in need of additional support, monitor progress, and ensure data-driven decision-making to promote student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement targeted academic and behavioral interventions for students across all grade levels (K-8). Use assessment data to identify students needing Tier II and Tier III supports. Collaborate with teachers and the MTSS team to design intervention plans and monitor progress. Maintain accurate and timely data collection, documentation, and reporting. Support and participate in MTSS team meetings and data review sessions. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (K-8 certification preferred). Knowledge and experience in MTSS implementation, Response to Intervention (RTI), or data-driven instructional practices. Strong background in literacy and/or math intervention preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and manage small group learning effectively. Prior experience in intervention, special education, or instructional coaching, a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement options. Starting at $35,000.
