Full Job Description Preschool Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our education team for the Summer, with the potential to stay on into the school year if the need for additional staff and your schedule allows. This role is responsible for creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and a caring demeanor to support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support & Child Development Helping to impliment age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play, exploration, and hands-on activities. Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that encourages children's curiosity and creativity. Support children's daily routines, including snack time, rest periods, and transitions between activities. Encourage and guide children in developing social-emotional skills, problem-solving abilities, and independence. Monitor and document children's progress, behaviors, and milestones, and input data into assessment tool. Be familiar with and adhere to licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and NAEYC accreditation standards. Communication & Collaboration Communicate daily with parents about their child's progress, experiences, and any concerns. Work closely with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive classroom environment. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and child observations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is a plus. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and engage in physical activities with children. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
