POSITION TITLE

Part-Time Career and Technical Education Paraprofessional

POSITION SUMMARY

The paraprofessional is responsible for assisting students in Career and Technical Education classes under the direction of a CTE instructor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the students' successful completion of coursework through tutoring, daily note taking, makeup work and assisting with tests, quizzes and/or projects. Responsible for completing semester/trimester summary reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated ability to work with special needs students. Demonstrated ability to handle situations in a confidential and professional manner. Demonstrated verbal, written and oral communication skills High school graduate required, post-secondary education preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Prefer experience in Career and Technical Education and/or Welding.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES

Assist students in Career and Technical Education classes under the direction of a CTE instructor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the students' successful completion of coursework through tutoring, daily note taking, makeup work and projects. Modify and/or proctor tests, quizzes and other assessments. Provide instruction to students as prescribed by the supervising teacher and reinforce skills introduced by the teacher. Assist teacher with individual, small group, and classroom instruction as determined by student needs. Reinforce rules of the school and the classroom. Responsible for completing trimester/semester reports. Attend paraprofessional meetings and staff development sessions as requested by supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned by SRESD Associate Superintendent/CTE Director.

WAGE/BENEFITS

$15.45/hour•$20.92/hour, based on experience; no additional benefits

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Up to 19 hours per week, 10 month position August•May, approximately 9:45am-1:45pm, Monday•Friday.

LOCATION

Placement would be at Baker College-Owosso in the CTE Welding Program. CTE program placement may vary from school year to school year.
