Kaleidoscope Traces Childcare is seeking a dependable and compassionate Floater Assistant Teacher to join our growing team. As a floater, you will provide flexible classroom support throughout the center, assisting teachers and staff as needed to ensure classroom ratios, safety standards, and high-quality care are consistently maintained. No two days are exactly the same, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who are adaptable, energetic, and passionate about helping children succeed. Our upcoming Davenport location will offer flexible shifts between 6:00 AM and 12:00 AM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support multiple classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and daily classroom operations. Create a nurturing, respectful, and positive environment for children ranging from infants through school-age. Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and rest time routines. Participate in play activities, circle time, and educational experiences alongside classroom teachers. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards. Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Follow all childcare licensing requirements, center policies, and health and safety procedures. Provide flexibility for staff breaks, classroom transitions, and unexpected staffing needs. Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 16 years of age. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings. Prior childcare or early childhood experience preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive, collaborative attitude. Dependable, adaptable, and passionate about working with children. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, squat, and remain active throughout the workday. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations. Schedule Monday through Friday. No weekends.
