Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available Position Summary The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw (GATA) is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Paraprofessionals to join its founding team for the Fall 2026 school opening. GATA is a technology-focused educational environment where academics, creativity, competition, gaming, and real-world learning experiences are integrated to create highly engaging opportunities for student success. The Paraprofessional will provide instructional support services to teachers and students while helping create a positive, productive, and supportive learning environment. This federally funded position is contingent upon the continuation of grant funding. The successful candidate will assist instructional staff in implementing educational programs and supporting student achievement through classroom assistance, tutoring, supervision, and academic intervention services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Support Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students. Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management. Provide instructional support services under the direction and supervision of certified teaching staff. Assist students with reading, writing, mathematics, and other academic subjects. Explain assignments, reinforce instructional concepts, and provide academic support. Read to students and listen to students read as part of instructional activities. Support differentiated instruction and individualized learning needs. Student Supervision Supervise students during classroom activities and instructional periods. Monitor students during testing sessions and assessments. Assist with supervision in learning environments including: Computer labs Libraries Media centers Learning centers Help maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment. Program Support Assist with Title I program implementation and documentation. Complete required paperwork and records associated with assigned programs. Prepare classrooms and instructional materials for daily activities. Assemble, organize, and maintain educational materials, supplies, and equipment. Store and maintain classroom resources following instructional use. Classroom and School Support Assist with bulletin boards and instructional displays. Support special classroom projects, learning activities, and educational events. Provide additional student assistance through learning games, skill drills, and reinforcement activities. Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development opportunities as assigned. Respond appropriately to supervision and direction from school administrators and instructional staff. Perform other duties as assigned to support student learning and school operations. Qualifications Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements: Minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education; or Associate Degree or higher; or Demonstrate knowledge and ability to assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction through a state or local academic assessment; or Passing score on one of the following Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) examinations: Basic Skills Test Professional Readiness Examination Passing score of 460 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment; or Passing score on the WorkKeys Assessment. Preferred Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students of varying academic levels and backgrounds. Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to student success and educational excellence. Additional Requirements Successful completion of a criminal background check. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented educational environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student-related matters.
