Main Campus General Summary Assist the Director of Student Support/Services in managing, coordinating, and assessing the development and administration of student support and success services associated with an academic unit. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Provide cross-unit coordination with campus offices outside of the academic unit to enact effective student support/services including but not limited to: enrollment services (including Admissions and Financial Aid), student success programming, student mental health and wellness, inclusion and belonging. Manage student support and success operations and initiatives, including prospective student outreach and recruitment, as well as current student retention and persistence, at the direction of supervisor. Assist with analyzing data and making data-driven decisions in executing student success strategies for the academic unit and supporting accreditation efforts. Lead community building activities with stakeholders within the academic unit and with community partners. Oversee support and assessment of student organizations and alumni activities within the academic unit. Assist with managing and assessing all student service activities related to state licensure/certification, including cross-unit support for accreditation efforts. Assist with managing, coordinating, and assessing student clinical experiences related to certification/licensure programs within the academic unit, including cross-unit support for accreditation efforts. Provide transfer-student services related to recruitment, admissions, and matriculation. Assist with managing, assessing, and implementing advising activities for students that are not served by University advising (e.g., post-baccalaureate students). Serve as liaison for student support and student services matters across academic divisions and administrative offices, as directed by supervisor. Provide supervision of professional and clerical staff, as directed by supervisor. Assist college leadership in formulating and implementing policies and procedures, including non-academic program assessment, budget development, forecasting, and monitoring. Serve as representative on university, state, and national committees and initiatives, including serving as Director of Student Support/Services in their absence. Perform related duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge and skills of higher education administration and college student recruitment and success, including data collection and analysis, typically acquired through the completion of a Masters Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs or Education/related field is required. A minimum of two years of directly related professional experience in college student support/services is required. Demonstrated contribution to establishing and sustaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational and professional environment is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in K-12 public education is preferred. Demonstrated ability to incorporate student learning and development theory into services and programs is preferred. Experience working with and/or as a student of academic/professional programs represented in the academic unit is preferred. Experience supervising staff is preferred.
