Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real impact by supporting students in a dynamic center-based special education program. This full-time contract opening offers the chance to work closely with a talented team, making each day meaningful for students who need extra assistance. As an Educational Assistant (Paraprofessional), you'll provide crucial academic and behavioral support, while helping foster independence and success for learners with diverse needs.
Key Qualifications:
Hold one of the following: associate's degree or higher, at least 60 college credit hours, or a passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment (such as the ParaPro Assessment) Experience in school settings as an educational assistant or paraprofessional is a plus Familiarity with supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), or moderate-severe needs is preferred Ability to utilize behavior management strategies (PBIS, ABA, CPI, etc.) Comfortable assisting with personal care, including toileting as needed Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Main Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students in a center-based special education classroom Assist with instructional activities and individualized education program (IEP) implementation Support behavioral plans and help keep students on task Assist with daily living skills (ADLs), including toileting support as required Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to maintain a positive, structured, and safe environment This opportunity will allow you to see students grow, with the contract running through the current school year and the potential for renewal.
