More than 30 Starting Salary Range $50,000 - $60,000 DESCRIPTION Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is seeking a caring, compassionate, organized, proactive, collaborative, faith-filled, and self-motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Director of Preschool for the 2026-2027 school year. This unique leadership position combines classroom teaching responsibilities with preschool administrative support. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working directly with children, and is eager to support the overall success of the preschool program. The Assistant Director will work under the direction and supervision of the Preschool Director and will assist in carrying out the daily responsibilities and needs of the preschool program. This individual must be flexible, dependable, and willing to perform duties as assigned by the Preschool Director in support of students, staff, and families. The Assistant Director will teach in the half-day mixed-age preschool classroom Monday through Thursday during the first portion of the school day. The remainder of each day, along with all day Friday, will be dedicated to Assistant Director responsibilities supporting the Preschool Director, staff, students, and families.
QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching Responsibilities Teach and support students in the half-day mixed-age preschool classroom Create a nurturing, engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Implement preschool curriculum and daily lesson plans Support students' academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and behavioral growth Collaborate with preschool staff to maintain consistent routines and expectations Communicate positively and professionally with families Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and preparedness Administrative & Leadership Support Assist the Preschool Director with the day-to-day operations of the preschool program Help maintain licensing compliance and required documentation Assist with staff scheduling, substitute coordination and classroom coverage Help organize and assist with preschool meetings, events, and special activities Order, organize, inventory, and maintain preschool supplies and materials Assist with billing, attendance, and organizational tasks Support communication with preschool families Support state, diocesan, and grant-related requirements as assigned Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Preschool Director Staff & Program Support Provide support and guidance to preschool staff throughout the day as directed Assist classrooms as needed to ensure smooth operations Help support positive behavior management practices as directed Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and positive staff relationships Assist with onboarding and mentoring new staff members Help ensure consistency in routines, procedures, and expectations throughout the preschool Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or related field preferred Experience teaching preschool or working in early childhood education required Leadership or administrative experience preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and transition between classroom and administrative responsibilities Positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for young children Ability to work under the direction of the Preschool Director and support the goals and needs of the preschool program Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education Must complete all diocesan and state-required background checks and trainings Preferred Qualities The ideal candidate is: Organized and detail-oriented Compassionate and student-centered Dependable and proactive Calm and solution-oriented Professional and confidential Flexible and team-oriented Passionate about early childhood education and Catholic school culture
