The qualified applicant will work directly with the LPGE Instructional Staff to help meet the learning needs of the students. This position is Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 school year.

35 Long Term Disability Insurance cost to employee ranges from 0 to $17.52 The Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public School is looking for an energentic bilingual Paraprofessional who wants to make a difference in the lives of each and every student who walks through their doors. We are a small school located in central Minnesota. We are a hours drive from St. Cloud, 2 hour drive from the Twin Cities, 30 minutes for Alexandria, and 3 hours from Duluth. We are surrounded by area lakes, parks, and have one of the last Drive-In Movie theatres in Minnesota. We have a diverse community consisting of European, Mexican, Caribean, and other nationalities. Sixty percent of our student population identifies as Hispanic. Todd County is also home of an active Amish population. We serve the communities of Grey Eagle, Burtrum, and Long Prairie. Our district exceeds the state average on meeting the goals of our students. Roughly a quarter of our Spanish speaking students are bilingual. We have family liasons that serve both at our secondary and elementary schools that also serve as translators. We are also an Achievement and Integration school which provides funds that support our bilingual studetns in meeting both academic and social needs. We are committed to meeting the needs of all students. We are looking for a team member to help us continue to provide a world class education. We are a district that believes in providing quality professional develpoment and mentoring to our students. We provide periodic staff development days to provide training and provide work time between quarters. We have one to one student devices with a technology coordinator, tech assistant, and a part-time technology integrationist. We have robusts community education program that provides enrichment activities, classes, and opportunties for our students before and after school. We provide after school and summer programming to all students in our district. We partner with local mental health providers to provide additional supports to both students and adults. We value teaching the whole child and want to find team members who share this philosophy. Position Purpose
  • Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
  • Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
  • Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
  • Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
  • Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
  • Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
  • Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.
  • Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
  • Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.
  • Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.
  • Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc.
  • Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.
  • Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

  • Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
