Position Summary:
The Special Education Paraprofessional (Behavior Interventionist) supports students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and self-regulation needs across educational settings. This position works collaboratively with special education teachers, general education staff, related service providers, and administrators to implement individualized supports that promote student success, independence, and inclusion. The Behavior Interventionist assists in creating safe, supportive, and structured learning environments while fostering positive relationships with students.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior support plans, instructional strategies, accommodations, and supports under the direction of licensed staff.
  • Assist with data collection and documentation related to student progress and behavior.
  • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with teachers, specialists, and other staff members regarding student needs and progress.
  • Support students across a variety of school environments, including classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, transportation areas, and community-based settings as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district practices and state and federal regulations.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and educational materials.
  • Ability to support students with a range of behavioral, emotional, academic, and developmental needs.
  • Ability to physically assist students and safely lift and/or support individuals weighing up to 50 pounds, when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, professionalism, and composure in fast-paced and dynamic situations.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to district policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of behavior support strategies, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning approaches. (preferred)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students while maintaining consistent expectations and boundaries. (preferred)
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices.

5 days per week / 6.5 hours per day
Rate of Pay:
B-2-1 // $20.54
