High School Special Education Paraprofessionals (2026-2027 School Year)

Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessionals to join our team for the 2026-2027 School Year! As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work closely with high school students who have special needs, providing support and assistance in their educational journey. You may also be assigned as a one to one paraprofessional.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Assist students in developing academic, social, and life skills
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as directed by the teacher
• Support students in classroom activities and ensure their safety and well-being
• Assist with behavior management strategies and interventions
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Utilize specialized equipment or assistive technology to support student learning
• Monitor student progress and document observations as required

Skills:

• Experience working with students, particularly those with special needs
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
• Proficiency in math concepts and ability to provide math support to students
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment
• Familiarity with deaf education or ability to communicate effectively with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Ability to educate and engage children of various ages and abilities
• Understanding of literacy education strategies and techniques
• Experience in toddler care is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
