Benefits Eligible (Retirees not Benefit eligible) Contract Type Notification Bargaining Unit None Revised Date 05/17/2023 PURPOSE This position is responsible for the building-level implementation of the Missouri Options program at Battle High School or Rock Bridge High School. This program serves students who are recovering academic credit by completing on-line course work and students preparing for the HISET. Applicants should be interested in working with the at-risk population.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Becoming thoroughly familiar with the Edgenuity software program which provides the curriculum for credit recover/Missouri Option preparation Record keeping such as daily attendance and data collection Communicating regarding students' progress to counselors, and principals Management of students during class periods Consistently enforcing classroom rules and guidelines Individually tutoring and conferencing with students Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Strong background in computers; Ability to work with others. Willingness to learn and help students. Substitute certification. 36+ college credit hours, or 20-hour DESE sub course.
Preferred:
Valid Teaching Certificate, Experience with students; Excellent communication skills. Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
