Job Summary The Preschool Aide assists the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children. The aide supports daily classroom routines, supervision, instructional activities, and student care while promoting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction, learning centers, and daily activities
Support children's social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and academic development
Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, rest time, and transitions
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
Prepare classroom materials, projects, and instructional supplies as directed
Assist children with personal care routines, including toileting, handwashing, and snack/lunch procedures
Reinforce classroom rules and positive behavior using age-appropriate guidance techniques
Participate in prayer, religious activities, and faith-based learning opportunities
Model Christian values, kindness, patience, and respect in all interactions
Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents as directed
Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
Follow all diocesan, school, health, safety, and child protection policies and procedures
Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
Coursework or training in early childhood education preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
Ability to supervise and engage young children in a caring and positive manner
Commitment to supporting the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
Completion of required background checks and safe environment training
