Role Summary As an ECSE Aide, you work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team—including teachers, therapists, and specialists—to provide a high-quality intervention program. Your focus is on the "whole child," with a heavy emphasis on communication skills and social-emotional development. By following specialized instructional approaches and maintaining a highly organized learning environment, you ensure that our youngest scholars with special needs have the tools they need to navigate the world with confidence. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)
Educationally Prepared:
Must have successfully completed at least sixty (60) college credit hours. Preference is given to those with coursework in Early Childhood or Special Education.
Certified Professional:
Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
Developmental Expert:
You have a solid understanding of early childhood development and experience working with young children. The "Patient"
Specialist:
You possess a deep sensitivity to the feelings and unique needs of children with autism and other developmental delays.
Team-Oriented & Professional:
You have the ability to work smoothly within a team and maintain the highest ethical standards of behavior and confidentiality. Your Impact (Key Duties)
Individualized Intervention:
Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce specialized learning goals, following the teacher's approach to provide a consistent and predictable experience for students.
Behavioral Excellence:
Utilize a consistently positive, restorative approach to managing all behaviors, helping students regulate their emotions and engage with their peers.
Communication Catalyst:
Assist in developing a learning environment that prioritizes the growth of communication and social skills through play and structured activities.
Observational Insight:
Use keen observational skills to learn each child's unique triggers and triumphs, alerting the teacher to any special information or progress.
Classroom Stewardship:
Maintain the organization necessary for a successful ECSE program—preparing activities, maintaining an orderly room, and ensuring materials are clean and accessible.
Professional Modeling:
Serve as a positive model for children and parents through your professional ethics, appearance, and reliable attendance. Your Leadership Partners

ECSE Teacher
Collaborative Team:
Speech Pathologists, Occupational/Physical Therapists, and Building Principals. The Logistics of Your Success

Work Year:
Follows the student school year (Summers and breaks off!).
Physical Readiness:
Requires the ability to interact with young children at their level (frequent sitting on the floor, bending, and moving).
