To Be Determined Job Description Maysville R-1 Utilizes a 4 day/week calendar. A preschool teacher aide supports the lead teacher by supervising children, implementing educational activities, and maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment. Key duties include assisting with lesson planning, overseeing classroom management, conducting student observations, aiding with hygiene and meals, and communicating with parents. Core Responsibilities
Classroom Management:
Supervise children during lessons, playtime, naptime, and meals to ensure safety.
Instructional Support:
Assist in implementing lesson plans, leading small group activities, and helping children develop basic skills in letters, numbers, and shapes.
Personal Care & Hygiene:
Assist children with toileting, handwashing, dressing, and serving nutritious meals/snacks.
Classroom Setup/Cleanliness:
Organize supplies, set up materials for projects, sanitize toys, and tidy up the learning environment.
Observation and Reporting:
Monitor child development, track behavioral issues, and inform the lead teacher of concerns.
Child Interaction:
Promote social-emotional growth through positive interactions and guidance. Typical Qualifications
Education:
Obtain a Substitute Certificate or a Para-Pro Certificate
Experience:
Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certification is encouraged.
Clearance:
Must pass criminal background checks, including fingerprinting. Key Skills Strong communication and patience. Ability to work as part of a team. Flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Reliability and punctuality.
