$17.74 Reports to: Building Administrator Purpose Statement The job of Paraprofessional – ESOL is done for the purpose of supporting classroom teachers in the integration of technology and the implementation of instruction and interventions tailored to English learners. This position assists with instructional activities and supervision of students to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Assist students and staff in locating print and non-print resources (e.g., commons catalog, internet). Support technology-based instruction in collaboration with classroom teachers. Attend required district workshops and in-service trainings to stay informed and compliant. Partner with the ESOL Case Manager and teachers to adapt instruction for individual English learners. Create instructional strategies and materials to support ESOL students (e.g., study guides, visuals). Demonstrate technology tools that enhance curriculum (e.g., voice threads, response systems). Implement teacher-directed instructional activities to support student learning. Provide English language support through definitions, examples, and non-verbal cues. Reinforce student learning through supplemental materials and behavior management support. Supervise and instruct individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher. Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the school.

Operate standard office equipment; use software applications; maintain accurate records.
Knowledge :
Basic math; reading and writing; child guidance principles; ESOL instructional techniques; safe classroom practices; modern office procedures; correct English usage.
Abilities :
Work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Follow oral and written directions and apply instructional techniques. Document student behavior and support behavior plans. Communicate effectively with staff and students. Maintain confidentiality. Understand the unique needs of English learners and students with disabilities. Responsibility Works under direct supervision, following standard procedures. Provides information and guidance to students and staff. May require limited coordination of resources and materials. Position may influence instructional support outcomes and student success. Work Environment Primarily performed in a school setting. Physical requirements include occasional lifting, kneeling, and fine motor skills. Approximately 70% sitting, 20% walking, 10% standing. Education & Experience Targeted, job-related education required. Job-related experience working with English learners and/or in a second language setting preferred.
