We seek motivated individuals to assist in providing exceptional educational support to our students. Job Summary The Paraprofessional - Instructional assists classroom teachers and library media specialists with integrating technology, supporting instructional activities, and supervising students. This role is crucial for ensuring effective classroom operations and student success.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Support:
Assist with classroom activities to help students meet tier I instructional goals. Implement instructional strategies as prescribed by teachers to reinforce learning concepts. Teach individual or small groups of students in subjects such as phonics, math, and reading, tracking their progress.
Library & Technology Support:
Support the Library Media Specialist with tasks including processing materials, supervising students, and teaching small groups. Demonstrate and implement technology tools to enhance the curriculum. Monitor and assist students in using online technology programs to develop keyboarding skills.
Student Monitoring & Behavior:
Monitor and reinforce learning, implementing behavior management programs as designed by teachers. Conduct data collection, screening, and progress monitoring to support student success.
Training & Professional Development:
Attend workshops and in-service training as required to stay updated on job functions and guidelines. Provide training and assistance to teachers on integrating technology and 21st-century skills into the curriculum.
Administrative Support:
Monitor the circulation desk, track overdue/lost books, and manage fines. Process new materials, repair books, and update the library's website and inventory.
Other Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the effective functioning of the work unit.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Relevant job-related experience is required.
Skills:
Proficiency in using educational technology and tools; ability to maintain accurate records and perform various tasks.
Knowledge:
Understanding of child guidance principles, basic subjects taught in schools, and instructional materials and techniques.
Abilities:
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, manage tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
