Job Description

Want to become a member of a nationally recognized early childhood education program? Join our team! The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking a qualified individual to work as a Program Aide in the Head Start/Early Head Start program. The Program Aide will inventory and requisition supplies; complete data entry requirements of family and child data and assist with reporting systems necessary for utilization of the data; receive, open and distribute mail as directed; follow procedures for general office systems, such as building security, telephone answering and messaging; collect and record weekly co-payments for before and after care and submits to the Center Coordinator and Business office; monitor, collect and record child care subsidy fees and attendance data to be entered into state data base for payment; substitute as nutrition aide as needed; and other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the center.
Candidates must have:
Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and Head Start performance standards and other regulations. Ability to establish rapport and maintain professional and public relationships. Knowledge of basic safety precautions while working at the agency facilities. Ability to relate well to children, families and staff. Professional and effective verbal and writing communication skills. Ability to establish work priorities and remain flexible Have excellent customer service and time management skills. Ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in the preparation, disclosure, and handling of confidential information. High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred. Business related college coursework desired. At least (3) years experience in an administrative area is required. Possess a valid driver's license. •Per program policies a health exam, clear tuberculosis screen, Hepatitis A vaccination and background check are required for hire.
