Jul 6, 2026 Job Description The ESY paraprofessional works under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher and ESY administrator with preschool students who may have learning, emotional, or cognitive disabilities; hearing or vision impairments; and/or autism. ESY paraprofessionals support instruction based on student needs in the curriculum, communication, life, and social skills. They support classroom and behavior management and perform other related duties as required or assigned. Additional duties are not limited to but may include: Implementing individual student reinforcement system. Assisting with routine care, including personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting. Providing assistance to medically fragile students and those physically impaired, which may involve transferring to and from wheelchairs to floor, table, or therapy devices.
