Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Assistant Teacher in a dynamic 1-3 year old classroom! In this role, you will play a vital part in nurturing young children's growth and development through engaging activities, compassionate care, and effective classroom management. You will support lead teachers by implementing curriculum plans, fostering a safe and stimulating environment, and encouraging social-emotional learning. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. Responsibilities Assist in developing and executing age-appropriate curriculum tailored to toddlers' developmental needs, including literacy, math, physical education, and sensory activities. Support classroom management by maintaining a structured, safe, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and exploration. Engage with children through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and educational activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and early literacy. Collaborate with lead teachers to observe and document each child's progress, behavior, and individual needs for ongoing assessment and tailored support. Implement behavior management strategies that foster positive interactions and respect among children while promoting good conduct. Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services to ensure inclusive participation. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about daily activities, developmental milestones, and any concerns regarding their child's welfare or progress. Experience Prior classroom experience working with children aged 1 to 3 years old in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in toddler care is essential. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational standards such as Montessori or other preschool methodologies is highly valued. Familiarity with behavior management techniques, classroom management strategies, and child welfare practices is important. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and engage positively with children's families. Previous exposure to special education or early intervention programs enhances your ability to support diverse learners. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay:
$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
