Job Description

Company Overview St. Thomas Child and Family Center is a dedicated full-time childcare center and preschool, nurturing children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Our mission is to provide a safe, engaging, and educational environment for over 90 children each day. Summary We are seeking a passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team at St. Thomas Child and Family Center in a rotating schedule role. This position is vital in fostering the growth and development of our youngest learners, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and education. Responsibilities Provide nurturing care that promotes emotional, social, and cognitive development. Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting strategies as needed. Collaborate with parents to support children's learning at home. Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Participate in team meetings to discuss curriculum and student needs. Qualifications CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) preferred or Associate's degree in early childhood education, or related field preferred. Proven experience working with preschool age children in a childcare setting. Strong understanding of childhood development principles. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children and parents. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet developmental milestones. Familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus. Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
