Role Description Ignite Jewelry Studios, located in downtown Asheville, NC, is currently seeking a part-time, on-site Metalsmithing Studio Assistant and Instructor. In this role, you will be involved in assisting in the daily running of the studio and gallery, as well as teaching workshops and facilitating open studio times. The role is focused on in-person workshops, so you will be responsible for maintaining inventory and supply of workshop materials and also preparation of those materials prior to individual classes. You will help with operational tasks such as studio maintenance and inventory, equipment repairs, and ordering supplies. You will also be adding and removing workshops and events to the schedule, managing social media profiles and more. A very well-rounded knowledge and skill set as a jeweler/ metalsmith is required. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a jeweler, metalsmith, goldsmith with advanced level experience in soldering, forming, and fabrication techniques. Experience teaching jewelry and/or metalsmithing classes Strong interpersonal and communication skills Expertise in metalworking equipment and some maintenance Part-Time 2-4 days/week Availability Fridays and Saturdays and some Sundays a must. A strong sense of initiative, self-motivation and a willingness to handle any task Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of various Social Media platforms Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations Bonus- Bachelor's or AA degree in fine arts, metalsmithing, or relevant field.
