Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract A full-time opportunity is available for a paraprofessional to support a Middle School caseload in a Sustained Support room, with a focus on students with autism. Based near Asheville, NC, this contract position is ideal for compassionate individuals experienced in school settings who are ready to make a meaningful difference.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience in a paraprofessional role within educational environments Understanding of working with students on the autism spectrum Familiarity with behavioral interventions or willingness to undergo training Patient, reliable, and proactive approach to supporting students' needs Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary education team High school diploma required; additional relevant certifications are a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
Assisting students individually and in small groups with academic tasks Implementing teacher-directed instructional strategies and behavior plans Providing targeted support that fosters engagement and independence Promoting an inclusive, positive, and structured learning environment Collecting data and tracking student progress as directed Participating in team meetings and communicating observations to educational staff This is an excellent chance to build skills in a supportive setting, surrounded by professionals who share a passion for helping students thrive.
