Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a support professional dedicated to assisting visually impaired students in an engaging school environment. Serving one-on-one as a Visually Impaired Support Assistant, you'll be a key advocate in helping learners overcome barriers and maximize their educational experience throughout the school year. This full-time, contract-based opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, to August 21, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule at 37.5 hours per week.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate degree or completion of 48 semester hours (official transcript required) Verifiable experience as a paraprofessional, preferably within educational settings Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive student relationships Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing personalized support Ability to collaborate with educators and follow care plans and accommodations
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver dedicated one-to-one support for a visually impaired student throughout the school day Assist during academic and non-academic activities, providing accessible materials and adaptive strategies Ensure student safety and engagement both in the classroom and during transitions Communicate effectively with teachers, specialists, and families to support learning objectives Track progress and provide feedback to the instructional team as needed Employ respectful, student-centered approaches that promote independence and confidence Why You'll Thrive in
