Paraprofessional/Caregiver

The Caregiver/Paraprofessional provides direct, daily supervision and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with significant mental health and behavioral health needs in a Level 3 group home setting. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment while implementing individualized service plans and behavioral interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide continuous supervision of residents, including completion of required 15-minute safety checks and close monitoring during high-risk times or behaviors Implement individualized service plans, behavior support plans, and crisis intervention strategies as directed by clinical staff Utilize appropriate de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to manage aggressive, disruptive, or unsafe behaviors Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living space Transport residents to and from school, medical, and therapeutic appointments as required Support and reinforce development of coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and social skills Maintain a structured daily routine, including educational support, recreational activities, and skill-building opportunities Accurately document all interactions, behaviors, incidents, and services provided in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards Communicate effectively with supervisors, Associate Professionals, and the multidisciplinary treatment team regarding resident progress and concerns Follow all safety protocols, including responding appropriately to crises, incidents, and mandated reporting requirements Model appropriate behavior, boundaries, and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred) Experience working with children/adolescents with mental health, trauma, or behavioral challenges preferred Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and required trainings (e.g., CPI, First Aid/CPR)
