IJS is designed to serve students that are on adapted curriculum. We provide individualized instruction to students who require a smaller, more structured setting in order to acquire new skills. We utilize research-based teaching methods to address each child's specific language, cognitive and social delays. We develop intervention programs for each child based on assessments and utilize that assessment data to track each child's progress. We understand the importance of low teacher to student ratios and maintain a ratio of 1:3 in each classroom. We believe that all children can learn if they are engaged in a stimulating atmosphere that includes high expectations and loving, committed people. The teaching assistant will assist a teacher in managing academics and student behavior. Daily, you will be required to manage the following activities: Collaborate with groups of students to help them achieve their learning goals, instruct and review educational content, maintain proper and organized data, assist with classroom set-up, prepare materials for students, and assist with student behavioral management and de-escalation. The teacher assistant will be expected to work alongside the lead teacher and other related service providers in the classroom to provide learning opportunities for all students.
