Qualifications and Job Description Minimum High School Diploma Reports to the
Principal Kindergarten TA:
Starting on the first day of school, the Kindergarten TA will attend Specials each day with their class and support the Specials teacher until the Specials Teacher has stated they are no longer needed for support Reads The First Six Weeks of School and become familiar with Responsive Classroom practices Uses the Responsive Classroom approach and creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity of the students Teach students to care and build relationships through positive behavior and language toward students, staff, and the community by using Responsive Classroom practices Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities Maintains a clean, and organized classroom that supports student learning and reflects respect for classrooms Implements daily routines and procedures that promote student responsibility for the cleanliness of the classroom and the School Takes direction from administrators and assigned teachers (general education teachers &/or EC teachers) Will work with assigned teacher/teachers to develop a daily schedule for providing the instructional small groups in reading, writing, math, social skills/behavior, and project work that will be shared with the Administrative Team Assist teachers with instructional small groups in reading, writing, math, social skills/behavior, and project work Collaborate and plan weekly with the grade level team & assigned teacher/s, when required Collaborate with other faculty and staff, as needed Seeks assistance from the EC Facilitator, if needed Maximize the integration of technology into core learning processes - will be able to use all of the technology (document camera; interactive TV; iPads; etc.) in classroom instruction Assist with the morning and afternoon carline Monitor the classroom during lunch, as needed Participate in Staff Development (if applicable) during the school year Participate in Summer Staff Development, if needed Strives to maintain and improve professional competence Attends meetings, school events, and serves on staff committees as required Complies with the Staff Daily Check-in and Out System Reads and Understands the entire Employee Handbook Reads and Understands the entire Parent-Student Handbook Has read, understands, and will follow the ACS Employee Code of Ethics & General Standards of Conduct
