Job Description

Summary Master's Garden Preschool in Hillsborough seeks to hire a full-time assistant preschool teacher to support their lead teachers and Master's Garden director in fostering a nurturing environment for young children. Candidates must be committed Christians who maintain discretion and respect. Responsibilities include aiding with classroom activities, ensuring safety, and enhancing the learning program. Requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid certification, and preferably Early Childhood Credentials. Key skills include early childhood development knowledge, safety practices, and strong communication. Flexibility and teamwork are essential. Master's Garden Preschool does not provide insurance or retirement benefits. Employees of Master's Garden Preschool are given a 50% tuition discount if they have a preschooler attending the preschool. The pay rate is $13.50-18.00 depending upon education & experience. Duties Report to the leader teacher and/or director. Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day running of the preschool class. Provide a stimulating and varied program of play and learning opportunities. Ensure the safety and well-being of the children. Undertake a key worker role with specific children. Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in that task. Demonstrate to his/her students his/her commitment to Christ and to live under His Lordship. Assist in the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment during classroom activities, outside activities, nap time, lunch, and snack times as assigned. Provide support in gathering cleaning materials for activities as requested. Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times. Ensure that information received concerning the children is kept confidential at all times. Actively encourage children's development in all areas by engaging with them and enhancing their play activities. Be involved in curriculum planning, policy writing, and record-keeping as requested and led by the Lead Teacher. Attend staff meetings as requested. Attend training as requested. Support the work and beliefs of the preschool by helping to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for children and adults. Work as part of a team and support colleagues. Encourage the participation and involvement of all parents of children attending the preschool. Be flexible with the working practices of the preschool. Be prepared to help with other tasks in the preschool as needed, as directed by the preschool director. Assist with maintaining routine reports/logs. Provide first aid to children according to established procedures. Arrive to work on time and consistently observe the established work schedule. Requirements Be a follower of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, seeking to live all of life under the Lordship of Jesus. Maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality. Model appropriate and respectful behavior toward children, families, and co-workers at all times. Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment in a supportive, transparent, and solution-driven fashion. Knowledge of general principles of early childhood development. Understanding of safety and sanitation practices for the classroom. Possess interpersonal skills, using tact, patience, and courtesy. Exhibit effective communication skills. High School diploma or equivalent.
