Join Our Team! Montessori Lower Elementary Classroom Assistant (Ages 6-9) Montessori Children's School - Jacksonville, NC (mcsjax.org) Serving Children Ages 2-14 Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM | 2026-2027 School Year starting 8/17/26 Are you passionate about education and eager to support a child-centered learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and independence are nurtured? The Montessori Children's School of Jacksonville, NC, is looking for a Classroom Assistant to join our team! •We currently have an opening in one of our 6-9 year old classrooms.•We believe that every child is unique and learns best at their own pace. Our goal is to provide an engaging, positive, and authentic Montessori environment where students thrive naturally.
What You'll Do:
Directly support the Lead Teacher in creating stimulating learning environments for children of all ages. Help nurture students' emotional, social, and intellectual development while embracing Montessori principles. Foster a calm, safe, and organized classroom where children feel valued and included. Observe and guide students in using Montessori materials, encouraging independent exploration and self-directed learning. Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating respect, inclusivity, and professionalism. Assist in classroom management, student supervision, and daily routines to ensure a smooth, nurturing learning experience. Utilize technology appropriately to enhance learning and instruction. Actively participate in staff meetings, school events, field trips, and professional development opportunities. Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher about student progress and classroom needs.
What We're Looking For:
Education:
Associate's degree required. (Bachelor's degree preferred) ✅
Experience:
Previous experience in an elementary setting. (Montessori experience preferred). ✅ Passion for

Willingness to learn and embrace Montessori principles in daily classroom interactions. ✅
Team Player:
A collaborative and flexible individual who thrives in a child-centered environment. ✅
Engaging & Active Role:
