Job Description

The 4-H Program Assistant - Summer Fun is a seasonal role designed to support and expand the vibrant 4-H Summer Fun program in Harnett County. Reporting directly to the Harnett County 4-H Agent, the Assistant will play a key role in the planning, logistics, and execution of summer youth workshops. $15.00 hourly pay
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Provides non formal educational activities for youth ages 5-19 Assists the 4-H team in planning and preparing materials for workshops Helps recruit and train community-based program volunteers. Help facilitate workshops and ensure a positive environment for all participants. Communicate with clients, partners, and associates. Ensure all required paperwork is completed and assists with invoicing. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
Associate's degree in child development, youth/family development, or other behavioral science field. One (1) year of related work or volunteer experience. Or equivalent education and/or experience; and Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and
ABILITIES
Knowledge and ability to teach programs for youth. Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of youth, parents, and volunteers. Basic administrative proficiency (email, document management, invoicing).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to perform sedentary work and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This work also involves the physical abilities of balancing, climbing, feeling, grasping, handling, discriminating among sounds, lifting, having manual dexterity, using mental acuity, pulling, reaching, performing repetitive motion, speaking, standing, expressing ideas by the spoken word, shouting to be heard above ambient noise, and walking. An incumbent must also possess the visual acuity to operate computers and office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee works in an office like setting and indoors at various community meeting or training sites. Employee also works in the outdoor environment with youth and other adults.
