Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a direct impact as a Visually Impaired Support Assistant, providing dedicated one-on-one assistance to a student with visual impairments throughout the school year. This contract opportunity runs full-time from August 13, 2026, through August 21, 2027, and involves serving in a supportive, collaborative environment. Your skills as a Paraprofessional will help create a more accessible and enriching learning atmosphere for the student.
Key Qualifications:
Associate degree or a minimum of 48 completed semester hours required (transcripts or degree documentation must be provided) Experience working as a Paraprofessional, especially supporting students in school settings Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills for working with visually impaired students Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within an educational environment Willingness to adapt to evolving student needs and collaborate with educators and other staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct one-on-one assistance to a visually impaired student throughout the school day Assist with lesson accessibility, mobility, and use of adaptive equipment as needed Encourage student independence while providing support for classroom participation and daily routines Communicate consistently with teachers and specialists to ensure comprehensive support Document progress and maintain records as directed by educational staff Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere in alignment with school and district policies
