The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and team oriented Assistant Language Immersion Teacher to join our founding faculty. In this role, you will work hand in hand with your classroom Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, high quality early learning environment. By possessing a strong working understanding of Spanish, you will support the Lead Teacher's immersion goals while helping children comfortably navigate their daily routines, meals, and activities. Core Responsibilities Classroom Immersion Support:
Understand and respond to the classroom's Spanish environment, assisting the Lead Teacher in maintaining a consistent linguistic flow for the children.
Co Teaching and Execution:
Assist the Lead Teacher in executing standards aligned daily lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum® and Teaching Strategies resources.
Classroom Safety and Care:
Maintain a pristine, sanitary, and organized classroom environment that complies perfectly with North Carolina DCDEE licensing and health standards. Provide attentive, nurturing care during meals, rest times, and transitions.
Observation Assistance:
Assist the Lead Teacher in capturing daily observations and child progress metrics within the Teaching Strategies app.
Team Collaboration:
Cultivate a positive, high trust relationship with the Lead Teacher, fellow staff members, and school families.
What You Bring Language Skills:
Strong conversational or working proficiency in Spanish is required to effectively understand the Lead Teacher and support the classroom's immersion goals. Good English skills are necessary for staff collaboration.
Experience:
Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare facility, camp, or school setting is preferred. A genuine love for early childhood development is essential.
Credentials:
Must meet baseline North Carolina qualifying requirements for childcare staff (including a high school diploma, criminal background check clearance, and a willingness to complete North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials if not already held).
