Job Description

We are excited to welcome passionate, caring, and dedicated individuals to apply for the role of Kindergarten Teaching Assistant at ECS. Our kindergarten classrooms are joyful, engaging spaces where young learners build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning, and teaching assistants play an essential role in helping students feel safe, supported, and successful each day. The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, collaborative, and enthusiastic about working with young children. Kindergarten teaching assistants work closely with teachers to support instruction, foster positive relationships, encourage independence, and help create a classroom environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities. Support individual and small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts. Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions. Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom supplies. Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, enrichment and other non-instructional times. Provide feedback to the lead teacher on student progress and behavior. Assist with classroom displays, bulletin boards, and learning stations. Support students with varying academic levels. Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting in early elementary grades. Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
Knowledge of:
Elementary school curriculum and classroom procedures. Child development and behavior management techniques. Safety and supervision best practices in a school setting.
Abilities:
Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents. Communicate effectively with young children and adults. Adapt to changing classroom needs and student behaviors. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. Manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children. Ability to use educational technology and tools (laptops, tablets, etc.). Conflict resolution and positive reinforcement strategies.
