Preschool Teacher and Aide Columbus, NE 68601 $16.50 - $18.50 an hour - Part-time $16.50 - $18.50 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher and Aide to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young learners. Your energy and passion will help ignite curiosity, support developmental milestones, and create a positive foundation for children's future learning experiences. Whether leading classroom activities or assisting with daily routines, you will contribute to a safe, inclusive space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are a Lutheran, faith-based program and are looking for a teacher ready to share the love of Jesus with children and families on our campus. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional growth in accordance with Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines. Lead engaging lessons and activities that stimulate curiosity and support childhood development across various domains including cognitive, motor, language, and social skills. Support classroom management by maintaining a structured environment that encourages positive behavior and respectful interactions among children. Collaborate with district specialists to adapt lesson plans for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services. Monitor individual progress through observations and assessments; prepare documentation for standardized testing or progress reports as needed. Foster strong communication with parents and guardians. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention and inclusive classroom strategies. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to implement lesson planning tailored to diverse learning needs while maintaining a safe classroom environment. Certification in early childhood education or related fields is desirable; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
