Job Description

Position:
Center Assistant Program and Location:
Head Start, North Platte Position Summary:
The Center Assistant provides support to staff. The Center Assistant is responsible to, and under the direct supervision of the Center Director.
Responsibilities:
Assist with meal preparations, as needed. Assist staff with ensuring food, kitchen, and classroom inventories are stocked. Assist in classroom as needed by implementing daily lesson plans, assisting in record keeping, documentation, providing classroom breaks. Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior. Assist in implementation of oral health practices if applicable.
Tasks and Duties:
Assist staff with serving and delivering meals and snacks to classrooms and assist classrooms during mealtime. Assist with laundry. Perform duties to assist in classroom management.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Consideration will be given to individuals working towards GED. Previous experience working with children preferred.
Required Skills:
Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public as well as other agency employees. Model appropriate/professional behavior.
Schedule/Hours:
30 hours per week for 37 weeks per year, Monday through Friday (approximate hours are 7:15 am - 1:45 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am - 12 pm on Friday). This position has summers off.
Pay Rate:
Starting pay is $15.78 per hour.
