Essential Skills & Experience:
Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or classroom assistant in a school setting is highly valued. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and students. Adaptability and patience to assist students with varying needs. Ability to follow classroom routines and instructional plans as outlined by the teacher. Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering a nurturing, respectful atmosphere. Reliable and punctual with excellent organization skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide individualized or small group support to students who may require additional guidance. Help supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and during meals or recess. Participate in classroom setup and organization to optimize learning spaces. Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. Support teachers with grading, record keeping, and preparing educational materials.
