Infant / Toddler Teacher Assistants Montville, NJ 07045 $17 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $17 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Infant & Toddler Teacher Assistant Grow NJ Kids Rated Early Childhood Education Program Position Summary We are seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Infant & Toddler Teacher Assistants to join our high-quality early childhood education program. The Teacher Assistants will support the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children from birth to age three. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and interested in building a career in early childhood education. As part of our commitment to developing future early childhood educators, the selected candidate will be paired with an experienced mentor and receive employer-paid support toward earning their Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential , including coursework, training classes, educational materials, and related credentialing expenses. Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Help maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging classroom environment. Build positive, nurturing relationships with infants, toddlers, and their families. Observe and document children's development and learning experiences as directed. Support daily routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, napping, and transitions. Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, Grow NJ Kids standards, and program policies. Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and welcoming learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training opportunities. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness for daily activities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children is preferred but not required. Genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of young children. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Willingness to participate in professional development and work toward obtaining a CDA Credential. Ability to meet the physical requirements of working with young children, including lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and engaging in active play. Ability to pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and health clearances.
