GENERAL :

Teacher aides are responsible to the Special Education Teacher, Principal, and Director. They may reinforce material that has previously been taught by the certified classroom teacher and are under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher.

SPECIFIC

: Teacher aides, with direction from the special education teacher are responsible for the following:

• Work one to one with a student and utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis
• Carry out student's individualized programs
• Carry out student's behavior intervention plans, health plans, sensory diets, and reinforcement schedules
• Collect, graph, and analyze data
• Assist in de-escalation of challenging behaviors
• Get materials and equipment ready to help teachers prepare for class
• Safely supervise student's in both instructional activities in and out of the classroom
• Develop relationships with students which are inspiring and professional
• Support special education teacher in consistency and control in the classroom
• Participate in planning sessions with classroom team
• Perform simple clerical duties as needed
• Works collaboratively as a member of the classroom
• Is punctual, well-groomed and regular in attendance
• Follows school policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

The teacher aide will have at least a High School Diploma/some college. The job offers dental health as well as health benefits, pension and 401K, and on site training. Please Note this is a full time position Monday•
