Temporary Program AideDEPARTMENT
Boys and Girls ClubREPORTS TO
Program DirectorPRIMARY FUNCTION
: The Program Aide's primary responsibility is supervising youth and maintaining a safe club environment. As a secondary responsibility, this position plans and implements formative activities within an assigned program area with the guidance of the Director, thus supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship.KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Prepare Youth for Success 1. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement ofYouth Development Outcomes:
- Directly supervise member activities,
- Promote safety practices in the club,
- Respond to members' emotional and physical safety needs,
- promote and stimulate program participation,
- provide guidance and role modeling to members.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. May participate in special programs and/or events. 2. May transport children to activities outside the club premises.RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines/ instructions.External:
Maintain contact with external community groups, members' parents, and others to assist in resolving problems.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Experience in working with children Knowledge of youth development Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to deal with the general public Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications Drug tests required (DUETO THE NATURE OF THE JOB MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARDS ARE NOT PERMITTED
