The Special Education Assistant works under the direction of the Special Education Teacher and administration to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students in both general education and specialized settings. Typical responsibilities include supporting IEP implementation, providing one-on-one and small-group assistance, monitoring student progress, and helping maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist students with academic tasks in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Support implementation of student accommodations, modifications, and goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Provide behavioral support and reinforcement strategies as directed by the Special Education Teacher. Collect and maintain student performance and behavior data. Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and instructional materials. Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school activities. Support students with social-emotional development and self-regulation skills. Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility when required. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student success. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher or administration. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to lift, move, and assist students when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree or completion of college coursework. Experience working with children or students with disabilities. Knowledge of special education practices and behavior support strategies. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift and assist students and equipment as needed. Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
