The Teacher Assistant supports school operations, helps implement educational activities, supervises students, promotes positive behavior, and assists with daily classroom instruction, routines, monitoring, reporting and data gathering to support children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Futuro Academy Charter School is seeking a Pre-K Teacher's Assistant/Aide to support our mission educating all PreK-5 scholars to excel into middle school, through high school, and into the university of their choice. Responsibilities and Duties Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, instructional and classroom activities. Support lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the additional specific grade-by-grade learning standards set forth in the charter are met Prepare instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom displays. Support individual students and small groups during instructional activities. Encourage children's participation, curiosity, and positive social interactions. Assists teacher with taking student attendance, keeping student to teacher ratio, creating bulletins, sending correspondence, completing reports, and preparing a variety of instructional materials. Evaluate students' progress through checks for understanding and formal assessments Engage in effective and appropriate school-wide classroom management Assist students with personal and sanitary needs. Assists during mealtime by preparing, distributing, ordering, and serving meals Assists with meal tracking and reporting Actively participates in various motor-skilled activities for students. May keep records of medication administered to students per health office protocol Administer first aid and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) when necessary. Assist in cleaning/sanitizing play areas, classroom centers, materials, etc. Conforms to safety standards, as prescribed. Participate in training during employment Incorporate feedback and coaching from leadership staff, lead teachers and training professionals Perform other duties as deemed necessary and assigned to support the instructional and operational parts of Futuro Academy's mission.
Qualifications and Skills Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting. Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff. Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and actively participate in classroom and playground activities. Successful completion of background checks and any state-required clearances. Preferred Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. ParaProfessional Exam Certification CPR and First Aid certification. Successful Candidate:
High-level communication skills; Ability and experience in engaging the interest of school-age children; Enthusiasm to work with diverse children, including those with special needs; Ability to work well with families; Mindset and skills to work effectively as a team member; Demonstrated willingness to be held accountable for student results. Spanish fluency highly preferred. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Salary & Benefits Futuro Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits. Pay will range between $17-18 per hour based on qualifications and experience. Start Date Futuro Academy is looking for Paraprofessional and Support Associate (PreK-5) to start SY26-27. Monday-Thursday, Fridays as needed.
