Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Nevada Sage Waldorf School is seeking a warm, grounded, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our Waldorf early childhood program. This position is ideal for someone who is deeply interested in child development, values rhythm and relationship, and wishes to support young children through a play-based and developmentally appropriate environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Lead Teacher in holding a warm, calm, and orderly classroom environment
  • Assist with daily and weekly rhythms, including free play, storytelling, circle time, outdoor play, rest, and practical work
  • Model purposeful movement, respectful speech, and thoughtful care of materials
  • Support children's social, emotional, and physical development through imitation and play
  • Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, natural classroom environment consistent with Waldorf principles
  • Assist with meal preparation, snack, and clean-up as part of the classroom rhythm
  • Observe children thoughtfully and communicate observations with the Lead Teacher
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate respectfully with families
  • Follow health, safety, and licensing requirements at all times
Qualifications:
  • Genuine love and respect for young children
  • Interest in or experience with Waldorf education (training or coursework preferred but not required)
  • Experience in early childhood education or childcare preferred
  • Willingness to learn and grow within Waldorf pedagogy
  • Calm presence, patience, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
  • Ability to meet background check and state licensing requirements
