JOB SUMMARY:

A Teaching Assistant assists with instruction and classroom management under the supervision of the classroom Physical Education/Health Teacher. They must perform duties within and outside the classroom. Please see Detailed Job Description attached.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A Teaching Assistant must be able to consistently and successfully perform the essential functions of the position as outlined below: 1. Ability to assume teacher responsibilities 2. Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills 3. Assist with routine classroom functions

QUALIFICATIONS

TEACHING

ASSISTANTS MUST HAVE TEACHING ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION

OR NYS

TEACHER CERTIFICATION

NYS

PHYSICAL EDUCATION/HEALTH CERTIFICATION

PREFERRED

CURRENT CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION REQUIRED MUST BE FINGERPRINTED THROUGH THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

PRIOR TO
