Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, full-time contract position supporting the growth and success of young learners as a Certified Teacher Assistant. This opportunity offers the chance to work with students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade across two elementary schools in a diverse district near Floral Park, NY. You'll be instrumental in helping children with varying behavioral needs thrive inside and outside the classroom. Your background as a Paraprofessional and your NY Teacher Assistant certification will allow you to make an immediate impact, working alongside dedicated educators to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. This position values adaptability, compassion, and a genuine desire to support every student's unique educational journey.
Qualifications:
Valid NYS Teacher Assistant certification is required Previous experience as a schools Paraprofessional or Teacher Assistant Familiarity with supporting elementary-aged students (K-3) a plus Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience and a proactive approach to working with varying behaviors
Responsibilities:
Support classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction and managing the classroom Assist students individually or in small groups, adapting strategies to address varied behavioral and academic needs Foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for all learners Help implement individualized education programs (IEPs) as needed Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support consistent student development Enjoy competitive hourly pay between $18-23 and access to comprehensive benefits.
