Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Discover a rewarding short-term opportunity as a 1:1 Teacher Aide or Teacher Assistant for the upcoming summer session near Elmira, NY. This contract role focuses on supporting students in a dedicated, individualized setting during a summer school program. Your expertise will empower students and help shape a successful learning environment during this critical period.
What You'll Bring:
Active NY state certification for Teacher Assistants; certification preferred for Aides Strongly preferred: previous 1:1 experience with students in a K-12 educational environment Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach Ability to provide compassionate, consistent support to students with unique learning needs Reliable and punctual, with a genuine passion for helping students thrive
Role Highlights:
Work one-on-one with assigned students to support their academic and behavioral goals Implement teacher-directed instructional and behavioral strategies in both classroom and individual settings Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere while encouraging student participation and independence Assist with activities of daily living and classroom integration as needed Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress Ensure sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and needs of students
Schedule & Location:
