Job Description

Job Summary A NYS licensed daycare facility located in Massapequa is seeking a passionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Your enthusiasm for working with children will help foster their growth, curiosity, and social skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting. We are looking for someone interested in working full time Monday-Friday 10am-6pm or 9am-5 pm. We are still working out the hours needed. We are looking for someone reliable and prompt. Responsibilities Duties include but not limited to:
  • helping with diaper changes and feedings
  • helping to clean and close up the center
  • 30 hours of free professional development required every 2 years.
  • Supervision of children
  • Positive engagement/ communication with staff and families
  • CPR and
FIRST AID
training is provided and paid for by facility every 2 years beginning Nov. 2026 BACKGROUND
CHECKS AND FINGERPRINTS ARE REQUIRED
Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that promote childhood development and early learning skills Provide attentive care to children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop social skills Engage children in age-appropriate activities that stimulate creativity, motor skills, and cognitive development Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to care Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
