About Us:
At the David Joshua Berg Early Learning Center, we believe in nurturing young children in a safe, engaging, and loving environment. We provide a warm, play-based early childhood experience where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and developmentally. We're currently seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our team in a 2's or 3's classroom.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, supportive, and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate is warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with toddlers and young preschoolers. This is a hands-on role involving everything from playtime to diapering to circle time—an opportunity to make a lasting impact during one of the most formative stages of development.
Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing age-appropriate activities that foster growth and development Create a welcoming, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom atmosphere Help with classroom routines such as arrival, transitions, meals/snacks, rest time, and dismissal Support children in developing self-help skills and social-emotional awareness Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment Collaborate closely with the lead teacher and school staff Communicate positively and professionally with families and colleagues
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with toddlers or preschoolers preferred A warm, nurturing, and patient demeanor Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and grow as an educator CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Early Childhood Education credits or coursework a plus but not required Why Join Us?
