Job Description
Preschool Teacher Assistant Position at Little Blessings Preschool Position Summary Little Blessings Christian Preschool (LBCP) is seeking a Teacher Assistant who will embody the mission of our school and lead by example. The Teacher Assistant helps the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program for children, supervises the class when the Head Teacher is out of the room, helps with safety, snack and assists in maintaining a clean and orderly room and school. The incumbent may be required to work with various age groups and change diapers and soiled clothing as needed and report to their assigned classroom Lead Teacher and Director. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience in early childhood education or similar field preferred. Demonstrate an understanding of all current state and local regulations. Previous work experience in an early childhood environment preferred. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Teacher in implementing the daily program for children, including the following: Treating each child with dignity and respect; Recognizing and considering the individual needs of each child; Helping children learn to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others; Working to prevent injuries and accidents, and handles appropriately if they occur; Supervising the classroom, according to the plans of the Lead Teacher when the Lead Teacher is out of the room; Attending all staff training sessions, meetings and programs sponsored by the Preschool, as required; Helping with snack preparation, feeding children, modeling table manners; Shares in the responsibility of maintaining a clean, orderly classroom and school; Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding children and families; Reporting problems, injuries and hazards promptly to the Head Teacher and Preschool Director. Performing other related duties as requested by the Head Teacher or Preschool Director.
