Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional/HealthAide to join our dynamic educational team for the 2026-2027 school year. In this vital role, you will support students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special education requirements. Your primary focus will be to assist teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that fosters growth and learning for all students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience early childhood education, special education, and classroom management. Services will commence 8/1/2026. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with teachers to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Assist with lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional activities across subjects such as literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Support children in classroom activities from UPK through 8th grade. Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and social skills among students. Incorporate communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate understanding for students with communication challenges. Provide hands-on support for children with disabilities or developmental delays, including those requiring specialized interventions. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by managing classroom routines, behavior expectations, and daily schedules. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, in preschool or private school environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Familiarity with special education strategies, including IEP implementation and behavior management techniques. Proficiency in communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and specialists. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management are preferred.
Pay:
$23.70 - $23.80 per hour
