Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Assistant, where your energy and dedication will help create an inspiring, safe, and fun environment for children of all ages. In this role, you will support camp activities, assist with supervision, and foster positive experiences that promote childhood development and social growth. Your enthusiasm will contribute to a memorable summer filled with learning, creativity, and joyful moments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, develop your leadership skills, and be part of a dynamic team committed to nurturing young minds. Responsibilities Support the planning and execution of engaging camp activities that promote learning, teamwork, and fun. Assist with supervising children during daily routines, ensuring safety and positive behavior management. Help facilitate classroom management techniques to maintain an organized and respectful environment. Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns. Work closely with children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or additional support. Foster inclusive participation by encouraging children's interests in sports coaching, theater, arts and crafts, or other camp programs. Maintain open communication with campers, parents, and staff to ensure a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies is highly valued. Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected. Background in early childhood education or special education enhances your ability to support diverse learners. Experience in coaching sports or leading recreational activities demonstrates your ability to motivate and engage children. Familiarity with Christian counseling or similar values-based frameworks can be beneficial for creating a nurturing environment.
